Our friendly and welcoming Spanish conversation practice group is geared towards people with Intermediate level Spanish skills who are looking for a supportive chance to practice and sharpen their skills.

Join us for an exciting visit from the May Wildlife Center Animal Ambassadors! Led by Nina Fischesser, Director of May Wildlife Center at Lees-McRae College, college students present on a variety of live animals found in WNC.

Student mentors of the May's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at Lee's McRae College will present live native birds of prey, songbirds, reptiles, and mammals as educational ambassadors who represent their wild-living counterparts.

Learn the basics of watercolor painting with June Flowstate artist-in-residence Jerrie Settles.

Open to anyone ages 10 and up. Space and materials are limited, so please register to attend.

Decorate a pop socket for your phone and design your own pop culture inspired button! 

Ages 12-18

Join with other young artists to learn about mini-comics and zines, and turn paper and pencils into an amazing story written by YOU! Open to ages 8 and up.

It's easy to lose track of your creative voice in the whirlwind of demands and tasks placed upon us by our busy lives.

NYC professional dancer and instructor Calvin Booker has been all around this world dancing!  He makes his teaching debut in the Blue Ridge Mountains here in Black Mountain.

Play board games, card games, and giant games in the Community Room! All ages are welcome. Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Join local artist, Kelly Reese, to learn foundational watercolor techniques and go home with your own painting of the Blue Ridge Mountains. No experience with painting is required to participate in this fun, step-by-step workshop.

Reading to a dog can help young readers build skills, confidence, and enjoyment in reading! We recommend that participants register in advance for a 15-minute session, and parent/legal guardian must sign a waiver.
