Book Club: Happy Land by Dolen Perkins-Valdez

The Fairview Library Book Club is a book discussion group that meets in person on the second Friday of each month at 11AM at the library and online via Zoom on the third Wednesday of each month at 7PM. We read a variety of genres. Newcomers are always welcome! 

The April book is Happy Land by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. A multigenerational novel set in the hills of western North Carolina, where Nikki uncovers a forgotten Black kingdom and long-buried family secrets. Inspired by true events, it’s a moving story about legacy, identity, and the power of memory.
