Event Details

On the one-year anniversary of Tropical Storm Helene, join us for a daylong series of events and activities centered around remembering the events of the past and building resilience and community for the future. 

Schedule

  • Storytime (for children of all ages)- 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
    • Children of all ages welcome
  • Meet a Therapy Dog (all ages) - noon - 1:00 p.m.
    • Drop in and sign up for a session with a certified therapy dog from Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
  • Rooting into Resilience: Somatic Experiencing Workshop (for adults) - 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
    • A workshop focused on learning basic nervous system concepts after a natural disaster in order to lean into resourcing, grounding, and orienting to our present state which increases our potential for living life with more vitality and ease.
    • Co-led by Sarah Eisenstein a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Bodyworker (NCLMBT #16530) who has lived with her family in Asheville for 20 years and has a multigenerational history in the region, her gratitude and love for our WNC home has deepened through riding out Hurricane Helene as a community. And Sarah Becker a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Massage Therapist (NCLMBT #08662) who has a private practice in Asheville and is dedicated to helping people live there most authentic and vibrant lives.
