Yoga Nidra is Non Sleep Deep Relaxation

The restorative relaxation created while practicing Yoga Nidra invites people to reduce stress, improve sleep, and balance their nervous system, all while simply slowing down and listening to a soothing guided meditation. These benefits extend beyond the 30 minute session, and with repetition support calm in your daily life.

Yoga Nidra reverses the effects of stress by:

1. Releasing excess accumulated tension

2. Restoring relaxation

3. Returning the body to a baseline state of balance

Yoga Nidra practice also has been known to enhance cognitive function, help manage pain, and elevate creativity. Yoga Nidra is not difficult, and many find it flows effortlessly.

This workshop consists of four Thursdays beginning on July 17 and ending on August 7th, but you don't have to attend every date to benefit from this practice.

The workshop will be approximately half hour talk about Yoga Nidra, followed by a half hour Yoga Nidra experience. Bring a yoga mat, a pillow or bolster, and a small blanket if you have them.

The library can provide yoga mats for ten people. If you need a yoga mat please register. If you plan on bringing a yoga mat then simply show up.
