My Story: Three great Memoirs by WNC Authors:  Lecture Series at West Asheville Library sponsored by the Wilma Dykeman Foundation. Everyone has a story. Many of us attempt to put our story in writing. Some of us get published. An even smaller number can take credit for having written something of lasting value.

On four evenings from September to December we celebrate four memoirs of lasting value from the mountains of Western North Carolina. The following writers will be featured:

Thursday, September 11, Talk by Cecil Willis featuring his memoir Hillbilly Odyssey: Resilience in a Small Mountain Mill Town.

Thursday, October 9, Talk by Priscilla Ndiaye Robinson, featuring her memoir A Mother’s Cry: he’s still my child.

Thursday, November 13, Talk by Meta Commerse, featuring her memoir Womaning: A Memoir and Elder Women's Writers Workshop.

Thursday, December 11, Talk by Tanya Davis, featuring her memoir Threads: A Tapestry of Life in the Black Community
of Shiloh and Beyond.

These are hybrid events--in person and Zoom available. Register for Zoom talk at novels@wilmadykemanlegacy.org
