The Victorian Puzzle Purse is a unique Valentine or friendship token popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a form of “letter locking” where paper is folded into a small complex shape that functions as its own envelope. Victorian puzzle purses were originally decorated with hearts, flowers and words of affection. The fun will be in decorating yours with a theme of your choice. Instructions will be provided to guide you in folding your own puzzle or you may choose to start with a pre-folded puzzle.

You are invited to bring favorite art supplies from home or use a selection of materials provided in class. Stamps, stencils, colored pens and pencils are ideal for this project.

This class is free. Come prepared to spend some relaxing time creating with others. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
