Join Master Gardener Phil Roudebush for this exploration of culinary herbs! Herbs are commonly grown in gardens and containers for a variety of uses. This presentation will provide general information about growing and using more than 35 different herbs with a focus on those used for culinary purposes. Ideas about how to process and use culinary herbs year-round will also be shared.
Phil is a native of Indiana and he also lived and gardened in Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi and Kansas before moving to North Carolina in 2015. He is a retired veterinarian who worked in private practice, academia and the animal health industry. In the past, Phil maintained a large vegetable garden, herb garden, pumpkin patch, water garden and a 30-acre native grass hay pasture. He was an Extension Master Gardener Volunteer in Shawnee County, Kansas before moving to Asheville and is an Extension Master Gardener Volunteer in Buncombe County. Phil is also a certified Blue Ridge Naturalist with the North Carolina Arboretum and teaches in their Blue Ridge Eco Gardener certification program.
