Come celebrate with us on Saturday August 16th from 10am - 2pm at our Summer Reading Finale event! Located at the Murphy-Oakley Community Center and Murphy-Oakley Park below the Oakley/South Asheville Library, the finale will be a fun-filled day celebrating the end of summer reading, FREE for all ages!
Headliners include:
10:30-11:30am – Breakdancing with The Hop owner, Greg Garrison
11am-12pm– Jolly Balloonsmiths balloon artists
11:30-12:30pm – Drum workshop with master djembe player Adama Dembele (bring a drum if you have one)
1-1:45pm – Bilingual Birdies live music
Other finale highlights include: hands-on activities with community partners, bottle sand art, button making, pinwheels, chalk, giant bubbles, lawn games, face-painting, snacks and drinks, and ice cream from The Hop to celebrate your sweet summer reading success!
