What is the Trust Fund for the Buncombe County Public Libraries?
Over forty years ago, upon receiving two large bequests, the Trust Fund for Buncombe County Public Libraries was established to come alongside county government to enhance library programs and services for the benefit of Buncombe County citizens.  Building on this generous, initial foundation, the Fund has grown over the years since.

In 2019, the Trust Fund was reconstituted and has since been actively supporting BCPL's efforts, with donations and grants totaling nearly $100,000. As can be seen from the data below, Trust Fund resources have resulted in special programs at branches and county-wide, educational staff scholarships, and special collection resources that would not otherwise be available to Buncombe County citizens.
