Event Details
Originally created by and exhibited at the Czart Gallery from November 2024 – January 2025, Buncombe County Special Collections is proud to host this exhibition featuring local artists who have created new work on pieces of debris reclaimed from the flood.
The exhibition will open on Tuesday, January 21st, from 6pm - 8pm with light bites, refreshments, and good company, and will remain on view in the Buncombe County Special Collections Reading Room (lower level of Pack Memorial Library) from Tuesday, January 21 – Saturday, March 1.
ReClaim the RAD: Flood Debris Resurrected into Art features local artists who have each created unique works using materials salvaged from Tropical Storm Helene’s wreckage including battered street signs, broken antiques, old rail car sidings, aluminum, and wood debris. Through creativity and resilience, they’ve transformed debris into impactful artworks that tell stories of destruction, fortitude and hope.
Selected works now on view include artwork by All Caps Murals Team, Gus Cutty, Rob Czar & Ashevillish, Sennyo Senn, Rachel Stark, and Amar Stewart.
