The Leicester Library is excited to offer a 10 week Tai Chi for Beginners Series taught by Patricia P. Gilliam, PhD, ANP-BC, a Board-Certified Tai Chi For Health Instructor and Nurse Practitioner.
The series will begin on Wednesday, March 26 at 4 pm and continue every Wednesday through May 28, 2025.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Preventions, a Tai Chi form that is endorsed by both the CDC and the Arthritis Foundation. This Tai Chi form has repeatedly shown to improve arthritis symptoms and reduce the risk and severity of falls. This practice is effective in decreasing pain, stiffness and risk for falls while improving strength, balance, postural stability, coordination and cognitive focus.
This is an excellent “first” Tai Chi form to learn on what may well become a lifelong journey of practicing Tai Chi.
Due to limited space, class registration will initially be offered to community members who have not previously participated in our Tai Chi classes at the Leicester Library.
If you are a returning student please contact Anna Booraem, and you will be placed on a waiting list.
