NOTICE: This class will meet at the Sherrill's Inn, 50 Clarke Ln, Fairview, during the month of February due to Early Voting at the library.
Mindfulness is paying attention in the present moment, on purpose, without judgment, as if our life depends on it.
This course series offers skills and tools for cultivating well-being by strengthening awareness of body, mind and emotions.
Participants should dress comfortably and bring a towel or yoga mat. A limited number of yoga mats are available for those that need one.
Dr. Mattie Decker teaches Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide and guides walks with Conserving Carolina.
Notes from the instructor: On Charlotte Highway, on NC HWY 74A, you'll keep going after you can see the house and the Historical marker until you arrive at the drive where we park--15 Clarke Lane.
We will gather in the warm living room, but please wear warm clothes and all you'll need to wrap up during our outdoor walking meditation...also a water bottle and journal or paper and pen/pencil for notes.
