This 6-week class will be the second half of the introduction to Basic Tai Chi Principles using the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention Level I form that started before Hurricane Helene. The series runs from November 12 - December 17 and the class is currently full.
The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention form was developed by Dr. Paul Lam, a family physician in Australia, and is endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Arthritis Foundation. Tai Chi’s numerous evidence-based health benefits will be threaded throughout class discussions.
The class will be taught by Patricia Gilliam, PhD, ANP-BC, a Board Certified certified instructor with the Tai Chi for Health Institute.
Attendees should plan to attend all six classes, as each class builds on the previous lessons learned. The class is sponsored by the Friends of Leicester Library and is available for no charge, but space is limited. Registration is required. Please contact anna.booraem@buncombecounty.org with questions.
