As the days grow shorter and the nights colder, your kids and teens might find themselves itching for something fun to do indoors. Buncombe County Public Library’s Winter Reading Challenge has plenty of educational activities to pique their curiosity and stave off those wintertime blues! The Winter Reading Challenge is available at all libraries anytime they're open!

Between December 1 and March 1, visit any Buncombe County Public Library to pick up an activity sheet for kids or teens. Whether they choose to make a winter collage, learn some American Sign Language or read about an Arctic animal, they’re sure to have fun completing these challenges.

Complete ten activities and return with their sheet to earn a vinyl snowflake sticker or a monster rainbow pen, then fill out an entry form for the countywide prize drawing. Enter to win a reading buddy stuffed animal to snuggle or a galaxy lamp or moon lamp to light up the dark winter nights.
