Week Calendar

Quilters of all ages welcome! Bring your own sewing machine and project or work on a community project. Snacks not provided, but we encourage you to bring a bag lunch. Drop in any time to participate.

Join us for a fun and interactive story time designed for children ages 18 months to 3 years. 

Every Wednesday morning, we open up the children's activity room to give kids time for free play with puppets. Children must be under the supervision or a parent or guardian.

While our Youth Services Librarian is out on leave from October-December, we will offer a weekly Toddler Playtime in the Community Room from 10:30-11:30am on Fridays (no Storytime, sorry!). Children and caregivers can play and socialize.

Play, Build, Create! Join us for Play-Doh Club at Enka-Candler Library on the third Wednesday of each month, right after Hora del Cuento=Bilingual Story Time. All Play-Doh and tools are provided. Perfect for ages 3 and up.

We will be discussing All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. This is the small group discussion and is limited to 8 people.

Drop in and play with other babies. Crawl through tunnels, play in ball pits, and enjoy other sensory toys. Caregivers must stay in the room. Ages 4-18 months. 

The Enka History Book Club reads historical fiction and non-fiction on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. 

We will be discussing All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. Please join us!

Trying out your new reading skills in front of other people can be intimidating! But dogs always listen and never judge, even when we make mistakes.

In this WNC Nature Center program, kids will explore the science of fall color and animal coloration through hands-on investigation and game playing.

Come learn to play the ukulele with the Asheville Ukulele Society. Lessons are free, but space is limited. To register, sign up at the library front desk or call 828-250-4738.

We'll be hosting a themed activity plus film once a month during the wintry months. If you're someone who enjoys having a movie on while crafting, or someone who just wants to watch a movie, join us.

Ashley English has authored 11 cookbooks on many topics. She'll lead us through hands-on preparations for her favorite holiday recipes and gifts.

The November 20 event focuses on hosting a holiday cookie exchange.
