Event Details

Groovin’ is a  free-admission outdoor concert series benefiting two Swannanoa nonprofit organizations: The Friends of the Swannanoa Library and the Swannanoa Community Council.

These events are held at Grovemont Park, adjacent to the Swannanoa Library. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and come enjoy these free family-friendly evenings of great music and food! A large selection of tasty and freshly prepared foods will be available for concert goers to enjoy. While the offerings are always changing, in past years attendees have chosen from such dishes as Southern BBQ Pork, Smoked Chicken, Fried Tempeh, Heirloom Tomato-Basil Salad, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, Muffaleta sandwiches and so much more. Of course, Vegan and Gluten Free will be available, as well as smaller portions for the little ones.

On July 8th, our musical guest will be Hearts Gone South! Hearts Gone South is an original classic-style country and honky tonk full of heart and soul, laced with wit and woe. Bringing fire and feeling to the age-old stories of heartbreak, love, loss, and victory for the underdog. They shoot straight from the hip with impassioned vocals, a tight rhythm section, and smoking leads to hit their target dead on.

Hearts Gone South is based out of Asheville, NC. Hearts Gone South have played sawdust strewn floors to festival stages everywhere from Anchorage to Atlanta. With 3 albums under their belts, and a fourth one on the way, Hearts Gone South travels the circuit, capturing hearts and putting a wiggle in the walk in folks near and far.
