Event Details

Groovin’ is a  free-admission outdoor concert series benefiting two Swannanoa nonprofit organizations: The Friends of the Swannanoa Library and the Swannanoa Community Council.

These events are held at Grovemont Park, adjacent to the Swannanoa Library. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and come enjoy these free family-friendly evenings of great music and food! A large selection of tasty and freshly prepared foods will be available for concert goers to enjoy. While the offerings are always changing, in past years attendees have chosen from such dishes as Southern BBQ Pork, Smoked Chicken, Fried Tempeh, Heirloom Tomato-Basil Salad, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, Muffaleta sandwiches and so much more. Of course, Vegan and Gluten Free will be available, as well as smaller portions for the little ones.

On July 22nd, our musical guest will be Las Montañitas! Las Montañitas brings the Andes to the Appalachians. Their music draws heavily from the Chicha Cumbia scene that emerged in Peru in the late 1960s, featuring psychedelic surf guitar tone, Afro-Colombian dance grooves and Andean inspired melodies.

Mar - vocals, charango, quena
Keith Josiah Smith - guitar, timbales
